Story, story, and story?

Interesting thoughts on story

Maybe Appeal, Originality, and Engagement are more important than Plot/Story.

Master Plots: Every story ever written.

Storey Time: Exquisite Corpse Game

Exercise from the first day of class. Barron forms the new from chaos and experimentation. I like it.

Storey Time

For creative inspiration, try this exorcise, courtesy of Barron Storey.

Make a column of sequential letters, begging anywhere. If you come to the end of the alphabet, restart at the beginning. Fill in them in with the first word that comes to mind.

In a second column, create a short list of roles. Be specific, not just "Doctor, Lawyer, Indian Chief"

In a third column, create a short list of nouns, then go back and add ing to the end of them.

In a fourth column, create a short list of specific places, as specific as possible.

Then choose one from each column at random, combine, and build a story from that sentence.

I got: "Killer bridge builder terroring a mountain with only one goat"

Barron's class is fun.
